Frick Files 5: The Natural State shines at Chile Pepper

Milesplit visits the Wampus Cat Invitational

While Milesplit was unable to visit the Chile Pepper, we were still able to witness a great day of racing in Conway at Beaverfork Park.

Brandon Waller stole the show, dominating en route to a 22-second victory, running a 15:40.7. Cabot teammate Myson McFall had a great day as well, finishing second, nearly dipping under the 16-minute barrier.

The duo helped guide Cabot to a controlling victory, scoring just 34 points. Vilonia finished in second while Conway rounded out the top 3.

Cabot continued their success in the girls race, winning once again behind Cady Masters' stellar day. Masters finished second for a second straight week, running a 19:29.25.

However, it was Audrey Herrell who had the best day in the girls race. The junior from Lake Hamilton won her first cross country race of her career, en route to a massive 36-second personal best.

Herrell has looked better and better each weekend and after Saturday's performance, asserts herself as another possible podium finisher in 5A.

Host school Conway finished second and Bryant wrapped up the top three in the girls team competition.
