Frick Files II: Arkansas squads shine in the Lone Star State

Fayetteville travels to the McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede in Texas

Bentonville was not the only team to take the trip to the Longhorn state this weekend, as Fayetteville traveled to McKinney, Texas for the McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede.

Going against some of the top schools in Texas such as Prosper and Flower Mound, the girls finished 4th, picking off back-to-back UIL 4A state champions Celina in the process.

Kayli Fitzhugh and Emelia Hesselgren led the charge for Fayetteville, finishing 14th and 15th and dipping below the 20-minute mark in the process.

Like the girls, the boys finished 4th against some stiff competition.

Alan Gallardo-Lopez was terrific, finishing 4th and running a stunning 15:46.20 on an extremely hilly course, which was probably the most impressive performance by an Arkansas runner this weekend.
