There were a few question marks for the Bulldogs entering this fall, but after the emergence of Annie Cornett over the weekend, those concerns are no more.
In her first race for Fayetteville, the freshman finished 19th at the Southlake XC Invite while taking down some of the best runners in the region. Cornett crossed the line in 18:39.80, which is the eighth fastest time run by an Arkansas girl this season.
Cornett was the first girl from Arkansas to finish in the Elite Girls 5K on Saturday and was the second scoring freshman. After the first weekend of racing, Cornett owns the second fastest time amongst freshman in the state and the 34th fastest across the entire country.
Watch for this freshman phenom from Fayetteville to continue posting fast times as the season rolls on!
