...
1) Where are you from and when did you first start running?
I am from Bentonville, and I started running casually when I was very young, and officially joined cross country in 8th grade.
2) So far in your high school career, what is your most memorable running memory?
Definitely Runninglane Nationals in 2022, it was an amazing experience and our team had a great time.
3) What has been the most difficult workout you've run during your running career?
400 repeats
4) Who are some of your greatest competitors you have raced throughout your career?
My biggest competitors are actually usually my own teammates, we all push each other in practice and races to get better together, and this goes for every year I've been on this team.
5) What has been your favorite cross country course or track to race on and why?
Definitely the Chile Pepper course, it's commonly known as a very fast course and I always have fun at that meet.
6) What were some of the most difficult obstacles that you have faced during your career?
The most challenging obstacles for me was overcoming iron deficiencies, as well as mental blocks. I have gone through periods of time where in my eyes, my races were not very good and I wasn't improving which is very frustrating.
7) What will you miss most about high school running?
I will miss the team culture and having such an amazing team, and I will miss running with my little sister.
8) What advice would you give to a rising freshman competing in their first high school season in 2024/2025?
I would tell them to have fun and that there is no pressure. They have so much time and don't need to start off with too high mileage or feel bad if they are not at the same level as some older runners. Don't give up just because you are not the fastest runner yet.
9) Who are some people you would like to thank for your success in high school?
My biggest thank you definitely goes to my coach, Coach Ramaker. Him and his wife both put in a lot of time and effort into our team and I would not be the person I am today without him. He has been an amazing coach as well as an amazing person I look up to. I would also like to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have made for me to run. I would like to thank my best friend and teammate Hannah Hanson, as she has made my high school running experience 1000x better. We are the only 2 seniors on our cross country team and we've pushed through together. Lastly, I would like to thank God for the strength He gives me in running and in life.
10) What's your favorite, XC or Track?
XC 1000%.
11) Hobbies outside of running:
Soccer, making videos, walking, and photography.
12) Who is your role model:
Parker Valby
13) Favorite Movie:
Tangled (Rapunzel)
14) Favorite Song/Artist/Music:
SZA
15) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why:
To have the ability to go to the past, so I can change mistakes I've made
