Thursday saw some changes on the Arkansas leader board as Lake Hamilton's Noah Stack and Dardanelle's Korbin Barnes both had season bests in their specialties. But, Stack, Arkansas' current No. 1 in the pole vault, and Barnes, who has the state's best time in the 300m hurdles, were already on top of the rankings going into their meets this week.
That was not the case for McGehee High School's Jacorrion Love, who had a huge personal record at the Sr. Owl Relays with his high jump of 6-7. He shares the No. 1 ranking with Sylvan Hills' Kenan Morris, who jumped the same height last week.
There is a bottle neck at the No. 2 spot in Arkansas' high jump rankings with five jumpers sitting on a season best of 6-5. This list includes Chase Keller, Kambrien Blackmon, Marcus Myhan, Talen Hindsman, and Christopher Edwards.
Stack, a senior, jumped a season best 16-6 in familiar territory as his performance on Thursday came at Lake Hamilton Sr. High Invitational. Nationally, Stack, who has signed with the University of Washington, is ranked No. 18 in the nation. All-time in Arkansas history, Stack is ranked No. 10.
ARKANSAS' ALL-TIME BOYS POLE VAULT LIST
Like Stack, Barne's performance came at his home meet-the Sr. Sand Lizard Relays. His time of 39.03 is an improvement on the 39.07 he ran on the same track in March. He also won the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.71 and finished second in the long jump with a mark of 19-10.5.
Sheridan's Skylar Sterritt proved that she is the fastest female in the state of Arkansas on Thursday. She became the first female sprinter to break the 12.0. However, Sterrit's 11.93 was wind-aided with 3.5.
Fayetteville's Izzy Sategna and Bentonville's Morgan Langley are tied No. 2 in Arkansas this year with a time of 12.11. Satenga's time was wind aided (+3.4).
In Sterrit's performance on Thursday at the Jerry Roberts Memorial Relays, she held off North Little Rock Central's Kynnedi Neal (12.13), who is the fastest sophomore in the state of Arkansas.
