Magazine, Arkansas – The Magazine Invitational is an early season set of races at a shorter than normal distance. The races involved 263 kids from 12 local schools: Magazine, Booneville, Paris, Greenwood, Lavaca, Acorn, Mansfield, Waldron, Cedarville, Dardanelle, Mountainburg, and Johnson County Westside.
The junior girls race was led by Morgan Fagan of Acorn who won in a time of 9:34 pulling away from Magazine runner Kaitlynn Ryan in the last quarter mile. Greenwood won the junior girls division followed closely by Dardanelle, Magazine, and Acorn 76-84-99-100.
The junior boys division was led by Waldron’s Alex Her who edged Jose Castalano of Dardanelle. Greenwood also won the junior boys division.
Defending State Champion Acorn won the senior girls division led by individual winner Kristen Fagan who set a new course record of 8:51(formerly Katy Carter 8:52). Finally, in the senior boys division, Ian Carter, finished 3rd, led Greenwood to their third title of the day. Dylan Brown of Waldron won the race outkicking Mark Dement of Paris.
