FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The top-ranked LSU track and field teams took the next step in their journey toward the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday by successfully defending their regional crowns at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships at John McDonnell Field.

  FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Northwestern State senior Chad Leath broke his own school record, running the fastest time in Friday's qualifying heats for Saturday's 400 meter hurdles final at the NCAA Mideast Regional Track and Field Championships, while Lady Demon sophomore Trecey Rew broke her own school discus mark.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior thrower Teremine White launched a throw of 56 ft. 4.75 in. (17.19 m) in the shot put to lead the way for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program on day one of the 2008 NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by the University of Arkansas. White's toss was good enough to claim tenth place in the highly competitive field and was his fourth-best toss of the season.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – ULM freshman Kyle Kent extended his inaugural collegiate campaign Friday evening after claiming the top spot and Regional Championship in the javelin at the NCAA Mideast Regional Meet in Fayetteville, Ark.

BATON ROUGE -- The LSU track and field teams have held their position among the national championship contenders throughout the 2008 outdoor season and will head into this weekend’s regional action with the No. 1 ranked teams in all of collegiate track and field.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Louisiana Tech 4x100 team of junior Mike Coleman, sophomore Al Fullwood along with freshmen Josh Harvey and Terry Carter shocked the NCAA Mideast Regionals Saturday with a time of 39.66 seconds for a second place finish over Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Mississippi State and LSU to advance to the NCAA Nationals in June.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - McNeese State's Freddie Hannie finished 25th in the hammer throw during the NCAA mid-east regional track and field meet on Saturday in Fayetteville, AR.

WHITE ADVANCES TO NATIONALS IN DISCUS FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - One day after senior thrower Teremine White claimed a top-ten performance in the shot put, the Donaldsonville native turned in a fifth-place performance in the discus to lead the Southeastern Louisiana University trak and field program on day two of the 2008 NCAA Mideast Regionals.

NEW ORLEANS - Sophomore jumper Nicolette Taku set a personal record in the triple jump Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships held at John McDonnell Outdoor Track on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
