BATON ROUGE -- Southeastern Louisiana's Kalphys Kemboi won the LSU Invitational cross country meet Saturday, crossing the finish line less than three hundreths of a second ahead of teammate Henry Rop. Kemboi finished the 8K event with a time of 25:38.71, while Rop came in at 25:38.94.

HOUSTON, Texas - The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track teams concluded the 2009 Southalnd Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in school record fashion on Saturday afternoon.  The Lions recorded their best ever finish at the league's indoor meet with a third place total of 81.5 points and the women set a new record for their program with 36 points and finished seventh, their best finish at indoors since joining the SLC for the 1998 indoor season.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior thrower Teremine White launched a throw of 56 ft. 4.75 in. (17.19 m) in the shot put to lead the way for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program on day one of the 2008 NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by the University of Arkansas. White's toss was good enough to claim tenth place in the highly competitive field and was his fourth-best toss of the season.

HUNSTVILLE, Texas - The Southeastern Louisiana University men\'s track and field team totaled five individual titles, ten all-conference honorees and 129 team points, but it wasn\'t enough to hold off a late-charging Texas-San Antonio squad that used a sweep of the top three spots in the 100 m and 200 m dash to total 138.5 team points to edge the Lions for first place at the 2008 Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships by 8.5 points. At the end of the three-day competition, the Lions turned in a second-place finish, their best performance at the conference meet since joining the SLC prior to the 1998 season.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Once again senior thrower Teremine White led the way for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program, setting a new school record with a 194 ft. throw in the discus, but he wasn't the only Lion turning heads at the UC San Diego Triton Relays on Saturday. Sophomore hurdler Adlus Wiltz was crowned the 400 m intermediate hurdle champion, senior thrower Dwight Womack hit a regional mark in the discus, and Yvette Schubert led the Lady Lions by taking third in the javelin against one of the strongest fields in the country.
