WACO, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana’s cross country season came to an end Saturday at the NCAA south central regional meet at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club. The Lion men earned a 17th place finish, topping LSU and Southland Conference rival UT Arlington.

 CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s cross country team finished sixth and the women’s team finished 10th in the Southland Conference championships Saturday at Guth Park. Lamar won the men’s 8K meet, while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi captured the women’s title in a 6K race.

BATON ROUGE -- Southeastern Louisiana's Kalphys Kemboi won the LSU Invitational cross country meet Saturday, crossing the finish line less than three hundreths of a second ahead of teammate Henry Rop. Kemboi finished the 8K event with a time of 25:38.71, while Rop came in at 25:38.94.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior thrower Adonson Shallow held his ground on Saturday, claiming 11th place in the discus to give the Southeastern Louisiana University men's track and field team its second top-20 finisher in three days at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at the University of Arkansas.

FRISCO, Texas - Coming off a thrilling come-from-behind win at the 2009 Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend, the postseason accolades have begun piling up for the Southeastern Louisiana University men's track and field team as head caoch Sean Brady, sophomore distance runner Henry Rop and junior thrower Adonson Shallow all picked up postseason honors the league office announced on Wednesday.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Trailing first-place Texas-Arlington by one and a half points heading into the final event of the 2009 Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Southeastern Louisiana University men’s track and field team needed to find a way to beat the best 4x400 m relay team in the conference to keep their title hopes alive.

BEAUMONT, Texas and MOBILE, Ala. - Heading into the weekend, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track and field teams had modest goals.  The Lions and Lady Lions wanted to rest their elite performers following a grueling week of competition at the 2009 Texas Relays, leave their injured athletes at home to recuperate and allow the rest of the team to fine-tune their events in a competitive atmosphere.  On Saturday, the Lions and Lady Lions met those goals at the 2009 Exxon Mobil Ty Tyrell Relays in Beaumont and at the 2009 South Alabama Invitational in Mobile.

AUSTIN, Texas - The 4x400 m relay team set a new school record on Saturday as the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team capped an impressive showing at the 82nd Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in record breaking fashion on the final day of one of the largest and most prestigious meets of the year.

LAFAYETTE, La. – Junior thrower Adonson Shallow improved on his school record in the hammer throw, senior jumper Roseann Bell recorded the third-best performance in school history to win the long jump, and junior jumper Corey Billizone hit an NCAA Regional Qualifying standard en route to a first place finish in the high jump as the Southeastern Louisiana University men’s and women’s track and field teams turned in a bevy of impressive performances at the Louisiana Classics on Saturday.

LAKE CHARLES, La. - Windy and rainy conditions prevented the entire field from posting impressive marks at the Cowboy Relays on the campus of McNeese State on Saturday, with the noticeable exception of junior thrower Adonson Shallow.  The Kingston, St. Vincent and the Grenadines native shattered the school record in the hammer throw on Saturday to lead the Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track and field squads through an arduous opener to the 2009 outdoor season.

FRISCO, Texas – After making his presence felt in a big way at the 2009 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 20-21, Southeastern Louisiana University junior thrower Adonson Shallow was named the SLC’s Outstanding Field Athlete and Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced today.

HOUSTON, Texas - The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's track teams concluded the 2009 Southalnd Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in school record fashion on Saturday afternoon.  The Lions recorded their best ever finish at the league's indoor meet with a third place total of 81.5 points and the women set a new record for their program with 36 points and finished seventh, their best finish at indoors since joining the SLC for the 1998 indoor season.

HOUSTON, Texas - Sophomore jumper Michael Rheams claimed first place among collegiate athletes in the long jump and claimed second in the triple jump to head up an impressive list of performances from the Lion jumps crew on the second and final day of competition at the Houston Indoor Invitational and Multi Events on Saturday.

CLINTON, Miss. - Sophomores Henry Rop and Kalphys Kemboi finished one-two on the men's side, sophomore Dorcus Kapkiai ran away with the individual women's title and sophomore Nelphat Boit put together a fifth-place run as the Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams totaled four top-five finishes en route to a fourth place finishes for each squad.

AUBURN, Ala. - Sophomore Henry Rop led the Lions with a sixth-place finish and several other Lion runners posted personal records as the Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams left their mark on one of the most prestigious meets in the nation on Saturday.

FRISCO, Texas - Southeastern Louisiana University sophomore Henry Rop was named the Souhtland Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week after placing second and leading the Lions to a fourth place finish at the Azalea City Classic on Saturday the league office announced on Tuesday.  Rop, who transferred to Southeastern from Union University, wins the award in his first cross country meet with the Lions.

MOBILE, Ala. -  The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams finally got their 2008 campaigns underway on Saturday as the Lady Lions placed two in the top three en route to a second place finish and the men's squad boasted a pair of top ten finishers to take fourth at the 36th Annual Azalea City Classic hosted by South Alabama on Saturday.

HAMMOND - Just over three weeks after clinching a spot on the 2008 U.S. Track and Field Olympic squad, Southeastern Louisiana University track and field volunteer assistant track coach Erica Bartolina will head off to Beijing, China for her first career Olympic games. The 28-year old pole vaulter earned her trip to the 29th Summer Olympiad with a personal best 14 ft. 11 in. vault at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. on July 6, and according to her husband and coach Michael, also an assistant track coach with the Lions, Erica is ready to go.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior thrower Teremine White launched a throw of 56 ft. 4.75 in. (17.19 m) in the shot put to lead the way for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program on day one of the 2008 NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by the University of Arkansas. White's toss was good enough to claim tenth place in the highly competitive field and was his fourth-best toss of the season.

WHITE ADVANCES TO NATIONALS IN DISCUS FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - One day after senior thrower Teremine White claimed a top-ten performance in the shot put, the Donaldsonville native turned in a fifth-place performance in the discus to lead the Southeastern Louisiana University trak and field program on day two of the 2008 NCAA Mideast Regionals.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Once again senior thrower Teremine White led the way for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field program, setting a new school record with a 194 ft. throw in the discus, but he wasn't the only Lion turning heads at the UC San Diego Triton Relays on Saturday. Sophomore hurdler Adlus Wiltz was crowned the 400 m intermediate hurdle champion, senior thrower Dwight Womack hit a regional mark in the discus, and Yvette Schubert led the Lady Lions by taking third in the javelin against one of the strongest fields in the country. The day's results had Southeastern head coach Sean Brady ecstatic.

HAMMOND - With the Southland Conference Outdoor championships two weeks away and the outdoor track season kicking into high gear, Southeastern Louisiana University track and field head coach Sean Brady came upon an interesting opportunity for his student athletes. Brady has rescheduled Southeastern for a visit to the UC San Diego Triton Invitational where the Lions' and Lady Lions' elite athletes will match up against some of the best programs on the west coast on the beach at San Diego.

BATON ROUGE - Throughout his squad's preparation for the 2008 outdoor track and field season, Southeastern Louisiana University track and field head coach Sean Brady stressed the need for his squads to "peak at the right time of the year." As the stretch run of the outdoor season now approaches, Brady is even more confident that his team is on the right path after several personal and school records were rewritten at the prestigious LSU Alumni Gold in Baton Rouge on Saturday.

AUSTIN,TEXAS - Senior jumper Babatunde Babalola cleared 7 ft. 0.5 in. (2.15 m), forcing a jump off with Darrell Rodick before claiming second place and hitting a regional mark as the final day of the Texas Relays came to a close in Austin.

HAMMOND - Once again, the only two Lions in competition had big days at the Texas Relays. Sophomore hurdler Adlus Wiltz posted a qualifying time of 52.29 seconds in the 400 m hurdles and senior thrower Colleena Collins advanced to the finals of the women's hammer throw with a toss of 176 ft. 4 in. (53.76 m) as day two of the 81st annual four-day event drew to a close.
