To nobody's surprise, Bentonville is the best team in Arkansas. Using the Milesplit "XC Team Scores" tab under "rankings," the Tigers' score against every other team in the state is a mere 19 points, which would be an astonishing score but is well justified considering the firepower at the top of their lineup. It would be a big surprise if the Tigers did not win their 7th straight state championship this season, as the program appears to be a possible NXN Team Nationals qualifier.
Rogers has quietly assembled a very solid squad with a strong 1-2 punch at the top of the lineup and bolsters a lethal 28-second 1-5 split through the first three weeks of the season. Har-Ber will be the other team competing with Rogers in November as the two squads should be competing behind Bentonville for the second podium spot at states.
Mountain Home comes in ranked ahead of Fayetteville much due in part to their powerful 1-2 punch of William Hill and Hendrix Hughes, which makes them the most dangerous team in Division 5A. Fayetteville sits a close fifth and their biggest strength is their depth, which includes three 16:36/16:37 runners at the 2-4 positions. Both squads will have podium aspirations come November.
