A year removed from a 6th place finish at the 6A cross country state meet, Ft. Smith Southside might be one of the most dangerous teams in the state.
Finishing 6th might not have been what the Mavericks had envisioned before last year's state meet, but the team returns their entire top 7 from last year which includes one of the best 1-2 punches in the state to go along with two other sub 17 performers.
In a crowded division consisting of some of the best teams in the state, Ft. Smith Southside appears to be a team that could sneak its way onto this year's podium and make some noise across the state.
