After DeQueen won the 4A state championship in 2021, Pea Ridge has been atop class 4A ever since, winning the previous two state championships. However, with Tian Grant and Troy Ferguson graduating, two top-four finishers from last season's championships, the division is wide-open.
And DeQueen looks like a team that is capable of climbing back to the top of 4A. The Leopards return five from their top 6 in 2023 and will be looking to catch the four teams that finished ahead of them a season before.
Randy Rodriguez, the team's No. 1, enjoyed a great track season setting three new personal bests while winning 7 of the 10 races he competed in this track season. The rising senior finished 5th at the state meet a year ago and will play a big role in DeQueen's quest back to the top of 4A.
