Freshman Focus: Hunter Frickle Runs Under 16:00

It's been a fast season across the board in Arkansas this season and Hunter Frickle has recently emerged as one of the state's rising stars.

Last Saturday at the Hollister XC Open in Missouri, the freshman from Harrison picked up his second race win of the season, crossing the line in 15:52.92, the fastest time run by a freshman in Arkansas by nearly 50 seconds. Frickle took down a field of 62, winning the race in 34 seconds.

Before his breakout race, Frickle flashed signs of excellence earlier this season on multiple occasions. The Golden Goblin star opened the season with a 16:43.49 and 3rd place finish at the Bomber Open and a few weeks later ran 16:09.45 one the same course at the Bomber Invitational.

Not only is Frickle the fastest freshman in the state of Arkansas this season, but has run the 50th fastest time in the entire country. In four races this season, the freshman phenom owns an average finish of 5.25 and has run under 17:00 in three of them.

With the 4th fastest time in 5A this season. you won't want to miss Frickle when he is in action. Harrison has two more big races remaining on the schedule, the 5A West Conference Meet and 5A State Championships, and the freshman is sure to be up in the mix in both races.
