There was some great action in the Natural State on Saturday morning. Among some of the best racing happened at the Bison XC Invitational.
In her second race of the season, Lauren Thompson picked up her first win of the season, running a 19:09.23. The sophomore from Jonesboro finished second a week ago at the CBC Warrior Invitational and looks poised to continue her winning ways as the season rolls on.
Not to be outdone, in his first race of the new year Hudson Copeland completed the sweep for Jonesboro, winning the boys race with a time of 15:55.07, which was a 40 second personal best.
Copeland's time gives the Golden Hurricanes their second sub 16 runner on the season. Last week, Harper Huckabee won the CBC Warrior Invitational and clocked his first career sub 16 performance, giving Jonesboro a lethal 1-2 punch at the top of their lineup.
The boys team tied with Bryant, who also scored 39 points, but ultimately lost on a 6th man tiebreaker. Just 53 seconds separated the Hornets top 5. The girls finished 4th behind stiff competition.
Congratulations to Lauren, Hudson, and the rest of the Jonesboro squads!
