And So Can Gabbie Bishop

Very few runners can say they enjoyed a better sophomore year than Gabbie Bishop.

After a strong start to her high school career, Bishop continued dropping time her sophomore season, setting personal bests in nearly every distance event, culminating in a pair of 3rd place finishes at the HOKA Festival of Miles and RunningLane Track Championships in the 1,600m.

There were big expectations for Bishop entering this season and the junior from Providence Academy has certainly stepped up to the plate and delivered. In seven races this fall, Bishop has won five including her most recent at the Springdale Schools Invitational where she ran 16:58.21, the 25th fastest time in the country this year.

As Bishop and Providence Academy prepare for their first AAA state meet, the Patriots' superstar will be eyeing qualification for an upcoming postseason race while blending her immediate goals with long-term aspirations.
